SHRM Volunteer Leader Business Meeting - Day 1

Thank you to Danielle Bohn from BAHRA for sharing her thoughts with us!

Today started with our Advocacy day on capitol hill. The two topics that SHRM had us speak on this year were Employer Provided Education Assistance and Work Opportunity Tax Credit. We did not meet with the senators this time we met with Jason Nerland, Adam Wek and Joseph Boddicker.

Also today started some of the sessions. I added the new chapter leader meeting. It was very informative- we covered topics such as insurance, bank accounts, new board members, the list goes on. Alot of great info to take back to the chapter! After, the conference Opening was kicked off by author James Meyers. He discussed how Associations can become essential and showing the value as the workplace changes, changing our target audience to meet the needs for what they need from.being part of an Association. Many great take aways!

I have now met up with everyone from SD, and we have a new friend from PA that joined up for supper as well. We plan on getting together tomorrow evening for some site seeing after meetings!

Tomorrow morning I look forward to the Fitness Challenge the conference is hosting bright and early!
